Subject: | [amigactive] Two hard drives (again) |
Hi,
Right, I've been buggering about with the hard drives trying to get my Amiga
to recognise both at the same time.
See the following URL for a diagram of the IDE connections going to/from the
drives and the IDE interface (4-way buffered).
http://www.btinternet.com/~gazchap/ide-diag.gif
Basically, the 1st hard drive is recognised and boots up as normal. The
CD-ROM drive is found and works OK, but the 2nd hard drive ISN'T found -
either by Workbench or HDInstTools/HDToolBox.
Does anyone have any idea why?
The first hard drive is connected to the interface by a 40-pin->44pin
converter and is connected to the "Channel 1 (44pin)" connector.
The second hard drive and CD-ROM are connected to the interface by a single
IDE cable and this is connected to the "Channel 2 (Master/Slave) 40pin"
connector. I've tried switching the IDE connectors around on the CD-ROM/hard
drive and none of them make a difference.
Please help! :)
Cheers,
GazChap.
